Just thought I would upload some more recent cute, fuzzy photos of the local Canadian Goslings near Coal Harbour. After all, who doesn’t like these cute fuzzy things? Don’t you just want to take them home? Well until they become juvenile I suppose. I don’t think I would want a full grown goose running around our apartment.
It was pretty fun actually. Robyn and I walked towards the goslings and ducklings in the pond near the corner of Georgia and Denman in Coal Harbour. I sat near the goslings and the mother goose didn’t seem to find me to be much of a threat. I just sat there taking photos as they got closer and closer. Then they went behind me so I turn around and laid on my stomach to get the above shots with Coal Harbour in the background. I just had to make sure I wasn’t laying in any goose poop.
I noticed that there was a juvenile mallard in the water too. Still had the same markings as the ducklings but about twice their size. I lady told me after a little while the ducklings (when juvenile) will start wandering around by themselves and eventually leave the nest.. so to speak.
I’m still looking forwad to the Mute Swan gosling as well as the Great Blue Heron chicks. Hopefully we’ll get to see them soon, I’ve seen photos of the juvenile Great Blue Herons from other parts of North America already show up online.

These were shot with the 70-200mm f2.8L IS lens
According to the EXIF on Flickr they were both at f5.0
I took even more today on our Mother’s Day walk with our mothers.
