Alright I am sure a lot of Vancouverites out there recognize the name Jim Pattison or Jimmy Pattison right? I know the name because he owns a fair bit of stuff around the area not to mention Save On Foods and various other companies.

If you are ever driving across the Lions Gate Bridge during the night if you look up Taylor way you will see the large beacon of light during the Christmas Season. That would be good ol’ Jimmy Pattison’s house up in the British Properties.

After a disappointment of seeing only 3 carol ships go by at Ambleside last night, Robyn her mum and I decided to drive up and take a look at his light display. The photo isn’t totally impressive but Robyn thought it was interesting to see a more American type design. You know the proud Red, White and Blue colours along with the Stars.  I guess next time we could drive around the other side and take a look too. He has a crew light his house up every year too.

So are you going to go around and look at Christmas Lights this year?

This reminds me there is one house in Maple Ridge and they have the largest, ugliest display of Christmas Lights to date. It’s a mash up of different things and just radiates a yellow glow. I’ll have to swing by Maple Ridge one night and get a photo of it. BCHydro must love them!
