No there were no firearm shootings at the Vancouver Aquarium, it was just me with my Canon XSi and various lenses. Robyn and I took our friends to the Vancouver Aquarium to show them the new exhibits as well as the newest beluga addition Tiqa. I took along my camera with various lenses and some small ideas on how to take photos of aquariums with really poor lighting.
When inside of the aquarium I made use of my 50mm 1.8 lens and got as close to the glass as possible and bumped the ISO up to 800 to try my hand at the various water life they have to offer visitors. Most of them didn’t turn out too bad, especially for a first attempt.
What do you think?

Great photos! My favorite is the shiny lizard, followed closely by the frogs ..

Great photos!
I love going to the aquarium, and always try to get to the open house with my granddaughter who is nearly 6.
We especially enjoy the free diving exhibition and the Beluga show!

Those are excellent shots Tyler. Thank you for sharing those with us.
And I agree with the photowalk idea re: GusF…when in Vancouver again, we should all do a photowalk together. I know I would definitely learn alot of things. From both of you

Awesome shots tyler. I’ve been to the aquarium twice with my DSLR and I always hate shooting there.
For one, I only have my crappy kit lens. And second, the lighting is always wonky and the glass is dirty. It’s so hard to get clear shots (for me anyways).
Great shots though, looking forward to more
